They Simply Don't Understand

First, I haven't really heard much news about the Irish voting NON. But, I can tell you this - it won't be long before Europhiles trot out the usual line - something like:

We obviously haven't managed to get our message across. Listen, there it is, I can here it now.

They just don't get it do they. The No voters DO understand - and they decided to vote NO. Now what part of NO don't the Yes crowd understand.

What politicians are really saying is: Why can't those thick stupid idiotic rabid anti-EU bigots understand that we will not take no for an answer.

Because that's what they really think - is it any wonder they get a NO vote!

Good on the Oirish - go for it!!

Jostling for position - the new 'Puritans'

Most of us, when we here the term 'Puritan' immediately have an image flashed in our minds of a man dressed in black with a pointed hat looking extremely dour. The term 'Puritan' has to be one of the most mis-used and mis-understood words or movement in the English language. Here were guys that would give a good thrashing if you were caught smiling or 'having fun'.

The fact is these were people that took there religion - and God - seriously. The other fact is they enjoyed barn dances at weddings, music and fashion. Obviously there were extremes, as in any movement, but by and large they were men and women that believed the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and sought to live it out.

Why do I mention the 'Puritans' - stick with me and see what you think.

What sparked this train of thought was the headline 'Terror files official suspended' on the BBC website. This official as we all know by now left the office with files that should never have left the building. It was only a matter of time before the culprit was rooted out and punished in some way.

It got me thinking about how the slightest infringement is pounced upon by the press, political parties in particular and other parts of the media. In other words the New Puritanism is of a far worse sort because often there is no way back - though you may disagree on that point. At least the Puritans of the 17th Century practised mercy and forgiveness whereas the 'New Puritans' of the left in particular takes no prisoners. There is little mercy for social infringement - and I don't mean the lager swilling idiots at the weekend.

What should happen to the official that left the document on the train? Well, one things for sure - they will never ever do it again. Whereas a new appointment might. Let them keep the job - the embarrassment will be punishment enough.

It's funny isn't it - all hell breaks loose as it were in a political and media sense whereas our society continues on a daily basis to murder the unborn and apart from the occasional furore it goes on largely unnoticed.

The new social puritanism is merciless and far worse in my opinion and is slowly destroying our nation.

I haven't written anything for a while - and you might think it's a good job, but any comments are welcome.

Here we go again!

One things for sure, the anti-smacking brigade are not going to stop until they get a total ban. See Evil Parent propaganda on the left.

I heard on the radio this afternoon an interview on the news with a labour MP. (See story on the BBC HERE & HERE in the Guardian, where else!) I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

This MP - and I can't remember his name - seems to be building a causal link between smacking and the problems of youth today.

This is a rather clever ploy because MPs are looking for answers to the problems of violence on our streets. Well of course, it must be because these youngsters were all smacked as children. Stop smacking children and the problem will go away. Except it won't - but we'll be left with an unworkable and unenforceable law that satisfies the left.

What these people do not realise is that children - yes children - are born with a sinful nature. Such is the propensity of human nature towards wrong doing (including self righteousness) that it needs to be checked. Adults have the law (such as it is) but children are to learn that wrongdoing has consequences. What we are teaching children today - and have been for some time - is that the only consequences of wrong doing will be a visit from a behavioural psychiatrist.

The longer these lunatic MPs are allowed to force these laws through the longer the problem will take to turn round. They believe in the fallacy that people are basically good - especially themselves!

Police March - MPs Silent

What a bunch of Lily-Livered cowards were in the House of Commons just a few minutes ago.

While thousands of disgruntled police officers are marching through London the self-serving pigs in the House of Commons barely give the Police a mention. This shows quite clearly what MPs really think of the Police.

Regardless of what we might often think of their response to crime the majority of Police Officers are invaluable to this country.

The Police have been badly let down by this Government - the silence of MPs today is deafening.

Heath Ledger found dead

It's sad when someone in the prime of life dies and our sympathies must go out to his family.

The news coverage of his death has been quite extensive with many tributes being paid to his skill as an actor.

On one level this is right and proper - BUT.

Now, I don't know the circumstances that caused him to find solace through drugs or, whether it was simply for the buzz and the thing to do for a 'star' of his age. We do know, regardless of the cause of death that he had 'been battling substance abuse for some time'. Even if it were a heart attack years of drug taking cannot possibly have helped.

My view is that he should not be lauded as a great talent but as an example of the complete idiocy of taking drugs either for pleasure or as a psychological prop. For all his success, talent and promising future his death should be heralded as a warning against the dangers of drug taking instead of being hero worshipped. He has left behind a two year old daughter and a grieving family.

Much of the coverage is unthinking and actually condones a lifestyle of drug taking. I think it's disgusting - a tragedy. How many die in complete obscurity and squalor. The death of Heath Ledger should be a warning not a recommendation.

That's my view anyway.

UPDATE

Father says it was an accident and that he was an inspiration to many. Hmmm.

He accidentally became addicted to drugs - maybe he'll inspire more to take up a drug infused lifestyle. This may sound callous and cruel but we must face up to the facts.

Lib Dems are interesting Shock!!!!

Did you see the Lib Dem leadership interview / row the other day?

Was it a publicity stunt? If it was Labour - I could believe it. I'm not sure if the Lib Dems are that media savvy, they are incredibly boring. I mean really, is anybody interested in the leadership. Who cares who it is?

Ah, but now it's suddenly interesting. Should we really have any sympathy for them - or for that matter any politician. I thought it was highly amusing. Chris Huhne denied all knowledge. Nothing to do with me, and then launches into an attack on the shocked Nick Clegg. Poor Nick had a job to get a word in while Huhne continued his onslaught.

If I had to vote for one of them it would be for Nick Clegg - if only out of sympathy. I thought Chris Huhne was a complete pratt.

Maybe that's it now and the Lib Dems will return to their boring uninteresting norm.

Stark Raving Mad

I guess the title of this post is a little unfortunate because it leaves me with nowhere else to go. What do I mean? This is my first post for quite some time and so much has happened in between time that I find difficult to comprehend. The government goes from madcap idea to madcap idea that any form of satire becomes superfluous in the face of an onslaught of madness.

The phrase I regularly hear these days is 'You couldn't make it up'. It comes to mind so much so that truth really is stranger than fiction with such regularity that fiction is really now reality.

For example, two stories I heard of yesterday. Both of them illustrate how this government has completely lost the plot and are descenting faster than a rat up a drainpipe into a comedy act - except he reality is, it's not funny.

How about the slipper wearing warders. Am I talking about the Liberals? No. These are Prison Warders wearing slippers so as not to disturb the prisoners sleep. And not just any prisoners either. These are top security prisoners, the likes of Ian Huntley. The Mirror headline for the story yesterday was typically eye catching:

"Warders wear slippers.. to avoid waking psycho killers.

Prison officers are wearing slippers on night shift so they don't wake up killers and paedophiles who complained about the noise from their boots. The softly-softly approach has been introduced in Victorian prisons, where slate floors mean prison-issue steel-toed boots are keeping inmates awake.
David Ward, Prison Officers' Association branch chairman at Wakefield, said: "We are wearing slippers and trainers so we don't disturb prisoners."

The second story is courtesy of our glorious and stark raving mad leader Gordon Brown.

We read in The Telegraph: "Brown urges ban on plastic bags"

This idea conjures up in my mind the 'Bag Police' and brings a whole new meaning to the phrase - 'what's in the bag'. Er, well, actually nothing - your nicked son.

I'm not sure how he's going to police this idea.

"The proposal to eliminate plastic bags was the most unexpected element in Mr Brown's speech in London to an audience invited by the conservation group WWF. He also reaffirmed Britain's commitment to producing 20 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020 and promised to introduce a "green hotline" to advise householders how to reduce their impact on the environment."
Should the announcement have been 'unexpected'? And what about the 'Green Hotline'? One things for sure we can expect this government to go from Barking to Raving to completely off their heads.

I'm sure today will reaveal even more Stark Raving Mad ideas from the Government until it becomes the norm - if it isn't already.

It's The Cows Stupid

This is not a wind up, I promise. Apparently, Burping Cows are harming the environment according to a report today HERE:
'Cows could be doing more damage to the environment than four-wheel-drive cars, scientists have warned.'

'Methane emissions from cattle account for a quarter of the gas in our air and researchers are trying to find a new way to feed cattle which leads to less belching.'
The answer according to scientists (the new priesthood) is
'"there are approaches within plant breeding that can lead to reduced emissions," said Mr Abberton.'

The whole Global Warming religion is at least all inclusive. Perhaps there will be a massive cull, or, an ingenious way to harness the energy given off by the Belching Cows. This will ensure yet another strata of government. Perhaps Gordon will appoint a Belching tsar. Any suggestions, I'm sure the Houses of Parliament are full of old belching windbags. Maybe a Belching Lord.

Rest easy people, drive your Gas Guzzling cars guilt free, It's the Cows Stupid.

Question Time

I don't know why I bother. I gave it a good twenty minutes, but when Douglas Murray started by talking about the problem of Islamic Fundamentalism and was booed and hissed I realised from the first minute the BBC had this week surpassed themselves by wheeling in a left wing biased audience made up of 14 - 22 year olds.

From what I could tell - Great Britain is going down the toilet fast. Where on earth did that young upstart Charlie Bell come from? As for the rest of the panel, Davina McCall - stick to Big Bruvver luv - the audience cheered and clapped after her empty headed remarks against Douglas Murray - astonishing! Ed Miliband - the younger of the Chuckle Brothers and Sayeeda Warsi, Shadow Minister for community cohesion made up the rest.

I'd never heard of Douglas Murray, but it was clear from the start he was going to be on his own.

I just couldn't stand any more and switched it off.

The first five minutes were jaw dropping - I'm looking forward to the transcript - in a masochistic sort of way.

UPDATE

There was no Transcrpit, but I typed as much as I could stand for you - I think you can get the idea. Listen to it HERE.

Douglas Murray: 'The cause of the terror is Islamist fundamentalism' 'They hate our country, they hate our allies and they hate the West'

Davina McCall: 'Well, as a non political person I feel that's twaddle' Poverty, blah blah blah. To this reply there was a lot of cheering. I can't stand any more.

Charlie Bell: 'We are in some way responsible' Basically, it's all our fault - Loads of cheering for this.

Except for Douglas Murray, I can't remember a worse panel than this lot.

I dread to think where we'll be in 10 - 15 years time.

Christians told to wear the Islamic headscarf

I was sent the following two reports - among several others - and thought they should be more widely read. Perhaps Mr Livingstone could comment on them.

Christians ordered to wear veil

Iraqi Christians report that an undated letter addressed to Christians in Baghdad from Muqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army has ordered that Christian women must wear the just like Muslim women. The letter goes on to say that special committees have been set up in order to monitor Christians to see if they comply. The letter threatens grave consequences for any woman who refuses to wear the veil.

Holy Lane: Church school and monastery attacked

Christians in Gaza have asked for protection from the international community after increasing anti-Christian attacks by Muslim extremists. The appeal was made on 18th June, following an attack on a Christian school and monastery in Gaza City. Masked gunmen attacked, storming the main entrance with rocket-propelled grenades. Once inside they destroyed crosses, Bibles, furniture and equipment, and also stole some computers.

Fatah and Hamas have both condemned the attack, which occurred as the two groups were fighting for control of Gaza.

In another development in Gaza, Sheik Abu Saqer, leader of Jihadia Salafiya, warned Christians in Gaza that they should expect real changes now that Hamas control the region. He threatened that Christian schools and institutions would be monitored to ensure that they are not trying to convert Muslims, and Christians who did would be dealt with harshly. He also demanded that all women, including non-Muslims, must wear headscarves at all times when in public and called on Hamas to “work to impose Islamic rule”.

I make no comment
